What happened in the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 episode entitled “What Lies Beneath”? Nate kissed Emily. The girls discovered shocking footage from the night that Maya went missing. Noel Kahn got his creep factor on. Dr. Wren went trolling for under-aged girls again in Rosewood and set his eyes on the gorgeous Hanna. Oh, and speaking of Hanna — she sliced her leg open and ruined a perfectly good pair of pink pants. (Le sigh.) Clearly, the tenth episode of the season was teeming with intensity! Recap all the mind-blowing twists that took place and learn more about everyone’s late-night adventures below. Dare to peel away the layers and find out what everyone’ s hiding. You might not like what you find? – A

Top 5 OMG Moments and The Big Ta-da from PLL Episode 3.10:

The Long-Lost Letter: While moving plants with her mom, Hanna stumbles upon a decrepit-looking note. She hurriedly reads it and discovers that the letter is addressed to Emily from that Maya on the day she was murdered. Apparently, she wanted to tell her something highly confidential but the last line was smudged out by rainwater. Hanna then informs the other girls about the note’s contents and reopens the investigation by peering through old photos of Maya looking for clues! Does she find anything special? Indeed she does — apparently, Maya frequented Noel Kahn’s family cabin a lot …like, a lot!

Into The Woods: What happens when two Liars enter the dark, cold woods? Bad, scary things, that’s what! When Emily and Hanna take a detour from the safe walking paths of Rosewood in order to snoop through Noel’s cabin (which has security cameras set up — sketchy), they find themselves in a whirlwind of danger. Inside the trashed home, they discover a secret room that holds many of Maya’s belongings, including her bag. Em and Hanna go through it and find Alison’s 14th birthday party card from Emily, a pocket knife inscribed with the initials LJ, some clothes, and an unused bus ticket to San Francisco. However, just as they’re making sense of the evidence, some stealth creeper instant locks the door behind the girls and shuts the windows as well. Oh — and in pure horror movie mode — the lights flicker off. The two besties panic and try smashing in the glass. Unfortunately, Hanna is a little too gangster for her own good so she grabs hold of the sharp blade they found in Maya’s bag and…ends up slashing her leg and ruining her luscious pink pants. Luckily for her, Emily springs to action in a crisis and uses a bat to tear apart the evil windows and help her injured friend flee. The two manage to climb through the window — but A’s not done with them yet. On a wall outside the cabin they a message awaits them: “I’m saving you for later.” (We totally get it — we do the same with Krispy Kreme doughnuts.) Anyway, all’s well that ends well because Hanna reaches out to Wren about his little injury (which she claims happened while cutting a really “big carrot” — worst fibber ever) and in an awkward flirtatious meet-up (especially since she had rejected his offer for a date earlier on), he stitches her right back up good as new!

Valedictorian Turned Delinquent: Spencer has an eye for detail and when she looks at Noel Kahn all she sees “KILLER! KILLER! KILLER!” flashing in big, red letters. Well, after a showdown in the school hallway with Rosewood’s most notorious bad boy (during which he has the cajones to tell her that it turns him on that she thinks he’s capable of murder), Spence takes matters into her own hands and uses her magic powers/lock-picking skills (with the help of a nail file) to peek into Noel’s gym locker. (This involved her sneaking into the boy’s locker room and getting a glimpse of everyone’s fit, naked bodies. And, no, she did not bury her face in shame for allowing it to feast upon abs that do not belong to Toby Cavanaugh!)Sigh. We bet Miss Spencer has a secret track record somewhere out there considering how much breaking and entering she does on a daily basis. Smooth criminal? Not so much. Before she can slip away unnoticed, Noel spots her and is pretty much like, ‘YOU’RE BUSTED!’

The Slutty Mom: To be honest, this wasn’t Aria’s best episode. Not that we don’t adore the artsy lady, but she was a bit lazy if you ask us. While Spencer, Hanna, and Emily were off endangering their lives to catch a vicious killer, Aria was pretty much stalking her mom’s boyfriend Zack at the Brew whilst pelting poor Ezra with questions about his ex, Maggie. Oh — and she was smearing bagels with cream cheese while lounging about. We get it — Ella is becoming a hoochie mama before our very eyes (what with all the kissing in English classroom and stuff) — but that doesn’t mean that Aria needs to be all up in her biznatch. Ya catch our drift? Sheesh, give mamadukes a break and focus on your man’s upcoming gig on the Maury Show (special edition episode: ‘I’m A Rich Baby Daddy’). That being said, Aria did step it up Rocky Balboa style by slipping on a vintage polka dot Adidas jacket and threatening to crush Zack’s “scones” if he ever hurt Ella. Get it, girl!

Late Night Smooch: Nate and Emily sitting on the porch in a tree…K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Yep, the inevitable happened. After trolling the Brew for dates with Jenna and then Emily, Maya’s cousin (or so he claims) appeared on Em’s doorstep pleading for forgiveness and calling himself a douchebag. (The first step is always admittance…) They then have a heart-to-heart during which he reveals that Maya’s death has affected more than he thought possible and in an attempt to console him, Emily plops a big wet one on him. (Breaking glass and hearts all in one night. Tsk tsk, chica!) Although this is by no means true love’s kiss, Paige happens to stroll up at that very moment, catches them necking, and storms off while taking her aggression out a nearby garbage can. (Good grief, Paige, what did the poor trash can ever do to you?) Later on, Paige tries to catch Emily in a lie by asking her how she spent her evening but their swim team coach interrupts them before Em can answer. So we’re guessing the two are still on…especially with the heart-melting way Paige was staring at her lady love.

The Big Ta-Da: Did Noel and Jenna kills Maya? They couldn’t have and to prove his innocence (and possibly try to seduce her in the process), Noel sends Spencer a video file (along with a message to keep the bleep out of his gym locker) recorded the night Maya disappeared. Emily, Hanna, and Spencer gather round the computer and hit play only to witness the following: “Blind” Jenna and Noel Kahn pull up in his convertible and enter the cabin. Moments later, Maya tiptoes up to the vehicle. What was she looking for? Before the girls can even contemplate this mystery, they scream in horror as an unfamiliar arm reaches out, covers Maya’s mouth, and drags her off into the darkness. The security video exonerates Garrett as well from the murder because it was recorded while he was still singing the jailhouse blues — so he clearly can’t be the killer either. So who then? It seems our question gets answered when we see ‘A’  hanging up his/her collection of black hoodies one by one while watching Wheel of Fortune…Dun dun dun!
